If you can't, or will not, pay for the health care costs of the troops, perhaps you need to pull them all back to the US and not risk their health and lives in other countries where they don't want them in the first place. Places like Afghanistan, Pakistan and now for crying out loud creating a no fly zone around Syria. Will the insanity ever stop?

The politics of personal destruction are leading the US into a malaise as severe, or more so, than anything Jimmy Carter could have dreamed of.
It's time for America to once more dream the big dreams, because, if you dream big enough, even if you don't quite make it as big as your dream............it becomes greater than people in general ever thought possible.
This is a bit long, almost 30 minutes, but you'll enjoy the time.
Spread it around.

Updated: The clip is wrong. Apparently he said "Grandfather" (presumably his white grandfather) and the tape was edited.
Thanks to Yaba and Dogs don't purr.
I, however, stand by my statement. He's still a lying son of a bitch.
Are his lips moving?
The President of the United States is a lying Son of a Bitch!

And with great regret for my past stupidity, I confess to having been an ardent believer in the Governments actions in the late great South East Asia War Games. Not only a believer, but, a decorated participant in those games. Games we forfeited to the opponents, after wasting the blood of millions and lives on our side of over 56,000 entrants.
I have since come to understand come to understand that the organizers of those, and more recent, games, never intended to win so much as they sought political place, power, and money for their organizational skill and promotional support.
Go read this article this article. Then come back and tell me that I'm wrong. They'd never do something like that.

Warning! Warning Will Robinson! Alert! Alert!
If you don't want your blood pressure to spike.......(don't worry about me, I took my Lisinopril 30 minutes ago) , maybe you shouldn't read
There are follow up videos. The ol' guy is a little like me.....he does go on and on. But, what he has to say is something you need to be aware of.

It's just that when I say it, spittle tends to spew from my mouth, my eyebrows jump wildly up and down and that red color in the whites of my eyes is actually blood.
So when Borepatch says it, in a more reasoned and cogent way, I appreciate the insights and appearance of calm, although the very thought of another O'bummer term makes my knees tremble and my water weak.

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"
Notable quotations from George Santanya
Life of reason, Reason in common sense, 1905, page 284.
My generation had it's Vietnam, and the Soviet Union not only aided and abetted our enemies,
they snickered at us. Then the Soviet Union had it's Afghanistan, and we were the ones doing
the aiding and abetting, while snickering at them. Now we're in Afghanistan and the Russians
and the rest of the world, even those who, like us are buried in an avalanche of debt are
snickering at us again.
While we argue over political candidates and correctness, who should win the Super Bowl, and
why, whether Kim Kardasian really wanted to be married, the blood and innocence of our finest
youth pours out upon a thankless earth.
Oh, what? you didn't get the memo?
As anyone can read in some of my previous post over the last almost eight years, no one enjoys
a good bloodletting more than me, but, don't you think that it's about time to quit the insanity
and start taking better care of ourselves?

Lessee, Iran is intent on provoking our Dhimmi President, Barry Hussein, by threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, sending warships to dock in Saudi Arabia, mass producing cruise missiles developing missiles that can reach America, detaining families of journalists, conducting military exercises......
And Congress calls for more drones over This Country??
Just more evidence, as if more were needed, that we should send all those Fudge Porkers in DC packing.

As the only male child from a family with six children, raised on a farm owned by two people who were Grand Masters of repressing any vestige of emotion, except for the all too often bouts of anger sparked by so many perceived and actual injustices, it was expected that, for that male, tears were unacceptable. So much so, that in the days after my fathers death 37 years ago, the only sobs were heard by no one, and quickly squelched.
Tough guy. Had seen the Elephant.
Sunday will be the 37th anniversary of his death.
I've learned a lot since then. Especially that grief and tears are natural and cleansing. And that by just telling the story, you can help many more than just yourself. But, especially, yourself.
Some people have that rare knack of writing things that are at one and the same time, gut wrenching and uplifting and enlightening.
AD is one of those rare and gifted individuals. His, Love Song to Kimberly , his sister, is one of those things. Go and read it for yourself. Likely, you'll be glad you did. I am.

Today is the 99th anniversary of the signing of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. It enshrined into law an idea that stands in total contradiction to the driving force behind the American Revolution and the whole idea of freedom itself.
The great "old right" commentator Frank Chodorov once described the income tax as the root of all evil. His target was not the tax itself, but the principle behind it. Since its implementation in 1913, he wrote, "The government says to the citizen: ‘Your earnings are not exclusively your own; we have a claim on them, and our claim precedes yours; we will allow you to keep some of it, because we recognize your need, not your right; but whatever we grant you for yourself is for us to decide.'"
