I'm Rich!!!

The Kudzu Wife (KW) has been having a grand time finding previously undiscovered flowers and plants around the New Place (NP). From the large single white Iris to Tulips, Daffodils and Wisteria, to dozens of Purple Plum sprouts along with the Carolina Jasmine and other plants we have no idea of (apparently some of the previous owners were gardening enthusiasts), it is a discovery of moment each day.

This afternoon she pointed out a Manzanita. Don't know if it is one of This Breed but, if so, I'm gonna sit back and collect the monthly checks for tending it. (by which I mean that I'll not piss on it at night when I go out to water the oak trees.

Think the law is your friend?

You need to seriously reconsider that assumption.

Before the sun set on July 29, 2010, Diane Avera was in the Marengo County Jail, where she would remain for forty days. At one point she was shackled to a restraint chair for 17 hours. During that time she was denied water or access to a bathroom. She also developed edema in her feet. Edema-related blood clots have been identified as the cause of death for several of the inmates who have perished while chained to the “Devil’s Chair.”

Attitude adjustment??

We've now slept in the New place for a week. My bed is as comfortable as at the old place and no more willing to eject me kicking and screaming at sunrise.

Now however, as in days of yore, I don't have to go to work. When my feet hit the floor.......
here I am.

Having recently reached the age of drawing my sociable security (oxymoron) the thoughts of, "what if the gubbermint cuts ss out, or, more likely, continues to pay, only with rapidly depreciating $'s?"

Truthfully, I'd feel it, but it would only inspire harder work.

Eric Peters @ http://ericpetersautos.com/2012/04/06/anti-authoritarianism-starts-within/

puts it in perspective.

We've been the victims of of a massive ponzy scheme and wholesale robbery for the past 76 years. And every year the thieves grow more bold and audacious, extracting more and more from their gullible victims to the point that now we willingly and gladly hold our moth filled purses out for their plundering, hoping that we'll live long enough to be the eventual recipients of their Robin Hood largess, ignoring the fact that Robin always keeps most for himself and his Gay band and we'll get the crumbs.

Interesting reading for an early morning, but since I've been harping on it for 30 + years and still gladly find my pittance in the bank once a month, I'm as much a thief as the rest.

As the old song goes..

.."We just moved in our new house today..."

Actually it was last night. After moving the bed, the tv, the couch and love seat, much other stuff also, and all the stuff we've moved over the past months, last night was the night.

We left the old house after 6pm and headed into the east, where lurked a big dark storm cloud. Thankfully it was moving away from us, and as we were approaching Royston there emerged the biggest double rainbow ahead of us.

I told the kudzu wife that it was sitting over our new place and sure enough as we were about 1/4 mile down the road you could see that, indeed, I was right. A good omen you'd think, and we did. Then, we walked in to the house. Hot, only eighty......but, the air had been working when we left keeping a nice 72 degrees. Air conditioner out. I have no idea what might be wrong. Thankfully almost every room has high ceiling and fans. With the windows open and the fans moving the air around we were able to tolerate the head and indeed, before morning I'd pulled the sheet over me. Hopefully the people at the AC office will be here this afternoon.

It's beginning....

.....to look a lot less like home around here.

We've been slowly moving those things that not necessary for day to day life from here to the New Place. Today we moved the gun cabinet, the filing cabinet, the washer and dryer, the chest of drawers, the kitchen table and the best sleeping and rocking e-z-boy in the world, plus most of the canned goods in the pantry and cereal and spices in the cabinets.

The phone guy is supposed to show up at the New Place in the morning between 8:00 and 12:00, which means that I get to arise early and make the trek in order to wait upon their timing. Seems to be something wrong with the service provider and the payment provider paradigm here.

The phone and internet will be stopped here on Thursday, and since we can't live for even a moment with out either will of necessity be living there no later than Thursday and likely sooner. Then I won't have to get up here, have a nice cuppa coffee and decide when to go work on the New Place, I'll just wake up in the middle of a project for a long time. More will get done and progress will be visible, if only slightly more than now.

We found a huge white Iris there today. The youngest grand daughter said it was almost as tall as her. Little surprises like that are nice. No picture.........the camera is, of course, not at this place.
