Nine Speakers Inc. has learned that you can't trust liberal moonbats like Helen Thomas to not eventually reveal their true feelings.

Good riddance to bad garbage isf you ask me. Hopefully this will stay in the media and interwebz until she get a bucket of water tossed on her and she starts melting....meellttiinngg away.

Iran is determined to keep pushing until Israel finally realizes their back is totally against the wall and the rest of the world is too cowardly to stand beside them and they'll make huge glass parking lots of much of Iran and a few other places. While our half-white, all Islamic, sorry excuse for a POTUS (piss be upon him) bows and scraps like a groveling dog to ingratiate himself to his masters, they look with scorn and laughter at him and think America has lost it's will. Better look at the Tea Parties ayatollah.

In other News President Barack Hussein Obama is poised to increase the U.S. debt to a level that exceeds the value of the nation’s annual economic output, a step toward what Bill Gross called a “debt super cycle.”

No nation can survive with debt like this hanging over their head.

The only solution IMHO is for the US to repudiate the debts to the Federal Reserve, all foreign and domestic holders of notes against the Treasury of the United States, Implement The Fair Tax which would allow keeping the promises to pay to Social Security, Medicare, Federal pension plans and Disability Payments, while encouraging business to flock to this country and the American Economy. If you haven't read up on the Fair Tax I beg you to go to Fair Tax. Org read all about it and then give it and candidates who support it your time, effort and money. It may be the only hope we have.
Our Show of weakness in our response to Iranian agression in Iraq will be little commented on by the gov't media and not at all by the white house.

The Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to cause terrible damage. Perhaps somebody ought to take a hint from some rednecks on how to help clean up parts of it.





This might help the economy for the hay farmers at least.

This Evenings Report

Or perhaps I should call it this weeks rant.......

You can decide.

At the moment I'll take a break to swallow the BP pill and others that keep the pressure relief valve working so I'll not go on a breath holding, blue faced tantrum.

I'm back.....got em all down on one gulp this time.

What's first.......Oh yeah.

Why is this woman still alive? She's too ugly to live and her left-leaning mind which was never too sharp (she only got by because she'd ask questions designed to denigrate conservatives) has turned totally to mush.



I guess those who never bothered to study any history other than their own sad sack life want the rest of us to be doomed to repeat it. Perhaps Bill Gates could think of a way to make soap out of her, or something.

Or perhaps he would rather just give her a vaccine against life, much as he would like to do to many others on this planet..........or haven't you heard.

Gates’ Bilderberg presentation will also likely include information about his eugenicist projects to lower global population figures.

During a recent TED conference, an organization which is sponsored by one of the largest toxic waste polluters on the planet, Gates told the audience that vaccines need to be used to reduce world population figures in order to solve global warming and lower CO2 emissions to almost zero.

Stating that the global population was heading towards 9 billion, Gates said, “If we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services (abortion), we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 per cent.”

Quite how an improvement in health care and vaccines that supposedly save lives would lead to a lowering in global population is an oxymoron, unless Gates is referring to vaccines that sterilize people, which is precisely the same method advocated in White House science advisor John P. Holdren’s 1977 textbook Ecoscience, which calls for a dictatorial “planetary regime” to enforce draconian measures of population reduction via all manner of oppressive techniques, including sterilization.

Gates’ eugenicist zeal is shared by his fellow Bilderberg elitists, many of whom have advocated draconian policies of population control in their own public speeches and writings. Indeed, the Rockefeller family funded eugenics research in Germany through the Kaiser-Wilhelm Institutes in Berlin and Munich. The Rockefeller Foundation praised Hitler’s sterilization program in Nazi Germany. David Rockefeller attended the first Bilderberg meeting in 1954 and is now the head of Bilderberg’s “steering committee”.

In other news I took a little road trip through some of NE Georgia today. I bought me a new toy with a small 4 stroke gas engine that I hope to get wet before too long. Visited some friends spent some money, wished the Portuguese Princess from New York a happy vacation as she prepared to leave for one week back in Gotham and another week in New York South, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Hopefully she will return to us but if those playboys down there get a look at the newly svelte her we'll be lucky to get her back.

Work on the agenda for this weekend, hopefully we'll get some more rain this evening and not so much tomorrow. The poor Pooch is moping around with his nub tail tucked tightly up against his butt because of the thunder and lightning. Refused to eat his chicken nuggets for supper so we know he's out of his mind with fear, but let someone ring the doorbell and you'd think he was 200 lbs of terror just waiting to chew a leg or two off.

The Rain

I woke to rain this morning, not a hard rain particularly, just a rain with the promise of more to come during the day. Gray clouds blocked the sun but were not hanging low enough to give that dreary, claustrophobic feeling......more a 'oh, it's raining, it'll stop in a few minutes and I'll step out back without getting wet, do some things that need doing and if it rains more I'll be dry under the tool shed or the canvas shelter.

And it did.....rain some more off and on.

Kinda like my thoughts.....off and on....on the task at hand....on the tasks ahead.

Off into the mists over Khe Sanh.....onto the hill just north where lie the ashes of Carl and John, for there wasn't anything left but a watch after hundred of pounds of JP-4 hit the hill a fraction of a second after they did..

Onto the rain dripping from the leaves on the trees.....off to that tall dead tree 20 feet higher than the surrounding jungle that was the last thing Wendall and his pilot Cpt. whose name I forget, saw.

On to plans for tomorrow, which is about as far into the future as I ever can get...
..off to Tony's house for a short visit.....back home to peel 4 spuds to be fried with onions and served with love and pieces of dead cow to me and the old grump by my better half. Better by far.....that she's still around after 4 decades is a wonderment to me.

On to the road for a 20 minute trip to buy a little scrap and some old coins that were around when the soldiers of the first and second World Wars went marching off to what they could not at that time visualize. Off to the thoughts that some things are worth fighting, living, and dieing for.

On to the interwebz to check up on the state of the world. Off into the dark corners of my mind when Borepatch led me to this......





And soon off to bed, glad to be there and listening........

Ours was a small piece of the quilt put together by the thousands upon thousand who looked with reverence on the Grand Old Flag in it's many incarnations, and your names are engraved along with so very, very many more.

I don't know if there was much wine consumed, if any this past evening, but there were plenty of cool brews and margarita's along with something called 'apple shots' (whatever that is).

The occasion a grand 'Deck Party' ostensibly for the purpose of celebrating the oldest Grandson's matriculation from high school which actually occurred on Friday in the Gwinnett Civic Center, the culmination of 14 years of hard work by the young man from pre-k to the 12th grade during which time he, hopefully, obtained the necessary knowledge and skills to begin to learn some of the really important lessons in life, graduation from which will, again hopefully, come at the end of a really long and fruitful lifetime with the hardest quiz of them all.

One question;.........answered by those left behind,... have I been a good man?

Good BBQ, corn dip, cheese dip and chips, washed down with diet Pepsi and Diet Mtn. Dew in my case and somewhat stronger libations in other's cases according to preference and in part by the time of night.

Much good conversation, reports on the latest safari to South Africa to include comments on the size of pecker on an old bull elephant, dwindled down to a hardy 4 or 5 discussing the state of the economy, the country, the world in general and the abundance of, or lack of in some cases, sufficient ammunition to withstand the Zombie Hoards waiting to descend upon the unlucky and un-wary.

All-in-All a good way to celebrate the accomplishments of as fine a young man as I have been privileged to know and to wish him God Speed on the trip of a lifetime that lies ahead of him.

He'll do alright.......he gives as good as he gets in our ritual hand squeezing these days. I think he may have been milking a few cows in his spare time.

Home grown tomatoes



I does love me some home grown tomatoes.

Went out back to the postage stamp sized garden we tried to till into our rocky, rooty ground here this evening and sprinkled a bit more fertilizer around some of the plants that are up and growing, tomatoes, straight neck yellow squash, okra, and one row of beans that haven't yet made their appearance. Just a tad, I'd put some fertilizer down when the tilling was almost done and churned it in, but the plants are needing a bit more nitrogen right about now, along with a gentle sprinkling of water from the rain barrel that catches the gutter run off from the left back corner of the house. There is a chance of rain and maybe like washing a car, watering the garden will ensure it.

I was rewarded by spying the first quarter sized fruit on the Rutgers tomato plant. The Better Boy and the Goliath plants are just starting to bloom and I'm sure they'll be sporting some tiny green tomatoes any day now.

I really need to get some landscape timbers and make this a raised bed garden by next year. I'll have to bring in some potting soil to mix with some of the leaf mulch and a bit of cow manure to fill the beds since the dirt we have here is a mixture of rocks and gully dirt that will grow dandelions in abundance but grass, flowers and vegetables need something a bit more fertile to do well.

Maybe I can get the grandson to use the pick and dig out the rocks and build a stone wall...
..nah.......lets not get too ambitious.

In the meantime I'm gonna dream of tomato sandwiches on Honey Wheat Bread with Blue Plate Mayo a bit of salt and generous helpings of black pepper. You purists can have your white bread......I prefer a bit more substance to mine.

There is something immensely satisfying about watching your garden grow, and especially eating something you've grown yourself.

Might be it'll be good practice for the times ahead.

Where is my Muse?

Damnifiknow!

Actually since the word is used to mean the spirits which lead us to artistic expression, one could logically say that I've never had one, as I typically write about my frustrations with day to day life, seemingly, concentrating on things which the gubbermint has done on that particular day. Not too much artistic expression there.......outrage might be more correct.

Whatever the reason for the last two or three weeks I've not felt much like putting fingertips to keyboard and trying to construct semi-cogent sentences out of the deranged thoughts cascading willy-nilly from synapse to neuron amongst the convoluted twists and tangles of the graying matter between my ears.

Other than enjoying the company of wife, the ol' grump,the offspring, and theirs traveling to and fro for all too little remuneration, I've just sorta let the events of the days proceed as they will.....realizing that any comments I make either for are against will have as much effect as spitting into a tornado...it'll like as not be hurled back into my face, or be lost in the excitement.

Still, unless one wishes to crawl back in the deepest recesses of the grotto and pull the blackness and echos in around him like a cold, damp blanket as you suck on your thumb and pull at your earlobe you can't help but hear and see the events of the day unfolding.

The politicians have painted themselves into a corner with little hope of being able to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat this last time. Their lack of caring about the Constitution which they swore to uphold, their only desire to be able to return every 2 years to Washington with the lukewarm approval of their constituents , there to seek their own remuneration and aggrandizement over the benefit of those they supposedly represent have led to an uprising by a significant percentage of the voters and as recent days have shown they have little stomach for keeping the same old tired assholes in control.

Yet as the events in Greece and the European Common Market countries are showing the time will eventually come when the pied piper must be paid, and he, savvy musicians he is, will no longer accept pretty pieces of paper representing nothing but hollow promises.

We, here in the good ol' US of A have not yet had disgruntled hostiles heaving Molotov cocktails at the police in the streets.......but it's still early yet......summer doesn't officially start for another month.

The simple fact is that everyone was too concerned with living the good life, consuming more than they produced.......after all it kept getting cheaper and cheaper down at Wally World, never mind that the labels all say "Made in China", besides Master Card and Visa would give you terms on anything you could think of as long as you made the minimum monthly sacrifice of old tired presidents who are in point of fact not worth the paper they are printed on.

Speaking from unfortunate personal experience I can tell you that when the position becomes increasingly untenable.......when the demands simply become too great to meet or bare....
..it becomes better to bow to the winds of fate and let yourself be blown away.

For much like the coconut floating on the sea, you'll likely be washed up on a distant shore, there to have an opportunity to send out a root and try to regain tenuous grasp of hope of growth once more.

Joseph Tainter wrote in 'The Collapse of Complex Societies'

"Systems of problem solving develop greater complexity and higher costs over long periods... the destructive potential is evident in historical cases where increased expenditures on socioeconomic complexity reached diminishing returns, and ultimately, in some instances, negative returns...where [the system] starts to become vulnerable to collapse"

Which is academic speak for The fixes are more costly than the problems.

W. C. Fields put it: 'If at first you don't succeed, try, again. Then give up. No sense in being a damned fool about it.'

Little appreciated are the benefits of giving up and letting things collapse. This is a pity. While successful fixes are celebrated, it is to the failed fixes that we owe much of our contentment and our progress.

Joseph Tainter explains, for example, that while the first fix may be beneficial, later ones often produce negative returns. Then, you're better off letting the whole system collapse. By examining ancient human bones, for example, he reports that nutritional levels actually improved, for most people, after the collapse of the Roman Empire.

We've allowed ourselves and our elected servents to in-debt the current and future generations to the point of futility. Why would any thinking, reasoning, rational being allow themselves to be subjected to this kind of slavery, and make no mistake about it, it will be slavery as the government demand greater and greater efforts to produce the taxes required to pay the obligations currently owed.

People go bankrupt all the time......hopefully they emerge on the other side a bit wiser and more resistant to the siren calls of conspicuous consumption.

Countries go bankrupt less often and the reports of those that do are muted by the controlled media so we in this country have little knowledge of how they do there after.

You might, if you are interested enough consider the example of Argentina in 2001 or Chile even earlier. Did their world end? Did they all put a gun to their heads? Or did they rebuild, wiser and better than before?

We'll survive the coming collapse of the debt bubble that has brought us to this pass.

But it will not be easy, nor will it be lessened by our attempt to patch things together yet another, and another time.

Me thinks it's time for a loping off of the gangrenous limbs that weaken us with their putrefying infection, set free the maggots to eat down to healthy tissue and take some of the anti-biotics that will enable us to regain our countries health.

Which limb or tentacle would you cut off first?

Back again.....

.......or an attempt to recall just what the hell I've been doing with myself.

An important exercise in knocking the rust, caused by standing in the rain wrasslin' with the black dogs, from the creaky working of a feeble mind.

When last we heard from the former boy sky warrior he had just advised everyone to go read much better writers than himself. This was and remains good advice and those who wish to exit now will have their entrance fee refunded in full except for a small charge used to feed the poor starving waifs in rural Appalachia....

40 million or so of them at last count according to official statistics on the number receiving food stamps. In the last 45 years or so thanks to the remarkable efforts of the Federal Government's War on Poverty the percentage of poor has not diminished one percentage point. I wonder what the number of people working on the problem has grown to?

Shortly after the last communique' from our intrepid hero we find him in the remote hinterland of Hwy 985 at the Hwy 52 intersection where he was beguiled by a most remarkable lady only slightly older than himself...

Still possessing all the qualities that drew men to her for thousands of years the Lady Liberty retains the ability to quicken a young mans heart and cause old men to smile at memories fondly recalled.

Some little time later a few moments were spent in attempting to teach the pooch to fly. Unfortunately the effort failed as the required lift over his ears was not sufficient at any of the speeds at which we could get him to stick his head into the slipstream.

The end of the week found the wife of my youth, the non-flying pooch and I trekking northward into the semi-rain forested area NW of Clayton, GA out Persimmon Rd. to the Tullulah River, there to spend a night camping out with the youngest daughter and her family to feast on freshly caught trout then sitting around a cheerful campfire later after the oldest daughter and her family arrived, dodging the smoke, roasting marshmallows and making smores (sic).

(at our age the wife and I find sleeping in a tent in 40 degree weather, even on a pneumatic mattress and with comfy sleeping bags a sure way to guarantee plenty of aches and groans for the next few days as we try to work the knots in our backs out.)


Mothers Day was spent catching more trout and watching the youngest granddaughter frolic in water that would keep beer and cokes chilly and cause manly parts to retire to warmer locales behind the nearest liver or spleen, but to her was just right for splashing in

Or getting mad at Paw Paw for not letting her out on the slippery rocks where every one else was fishing


But soon all was forgiven as she found pretty little flowers of blue to bring me.




Later the Son and his family would arrive and we would pile into the back of the trucks for the ride back to the campground looking for all the world like a bunch of Clampetts heading for Beverly Hills

There to partake of a non-traditional Mothers Day feast of hot dogs, hamburgers and best of all wild turkey breast, cubed, smeared with cajun spices and deep fried in the fish cooker.

Tell me and the grand kids that we don't know how to live.

It seems the Greeks, heirs to an ancient culture that celebrated freedom and individual expression both in politics and art, are reacting with the same outrage as any young child, hell, as even most people of any age who, being used to living the good life and consuming more of anything than they actually earned by the sweat of their brow, including metaphorically speaking, the seed corn for the next generation, will express.

MAY DAY protests in Greece turned violent yesterday as youths in gas masks and hoods set fire to vehicles, smashed shop fronts and threw molotov cocktails and rocks at police in an explosion of fury over austerity measures they claim will hurt only the poor.

Did the poor, the less productive, the less disciplined, the less entrepreneurial, the less inclined to live within, or below, their means, ever complain when the party was rocking along at full steam?

“I cannot help but blame my parents a little for what’s happened,” said Achilles Zacharoulis, a 36-year-old cardiologist. “They were here all that time,” he added, referring to the past three decades of mismanagement and fiscal insanity. “But what did they do to stop it?”

Vaggelis Gettos, 24, is just as alarmed at the burden being heaped on the young by austerity measures expected to be announced today, and has pledged to resist them in more protests this week against what he sees as a plot to impoverish Greece.

“We will live much worse than our parents,” he said. “Why should we be made to pay for their mistakes?”


You're 36 years old big boy. In the last 18 or so years did you speak out about the excesses, the freebies? Did you cry a warning and refuse your share of them in protest? I doubt it.
I'll wager that if you look at some of the old timers in the small villages who lived plain and simple lives, you'll be able to see many who saw the insanity, perhaps spoke out within their small circle of friend, yet realized the futility of stepping in front of the rushing freight train the gimme crowd were riding high on.

Economists regard the bloated civil service with its jobs for life and generous pensions as a cancer consuming the country’s resources. The older generation, the experts grimly concur, turned the state into a giant cash machine to be plundered at will.


Does that sound vaguely like our own country where the government sector earns more than most of the private sector? With no new jobs being created other than within expanded federal agencies grasping ever new and greater influence and power, is it any wonder that young people are applying in droves to those same agencies?

The unfortunate thing is that unless we are able to halt the growth of Leviathan within our own country the same outrage, riots, clashes, upheaval will soon burst forth in our own neighborhoods.

Perhaps not this summer, maybe not the next, but if we don't recognize and stop the same problems within our culture, one oppressively hot day soon the flames of ........what?.. will be fanned by an errant puff of wind into a conflagration that will make the wildfires in Yellowstone and the west a few years ago seem like only the spark from a lighter out of fuel.

And this little piggy cried, "wee, wee, wee all the way home".

I'm just wondering....

...in my own little paranoid little way ...

If anybody else thinks it strange that anointed O ne has ordered SWAT teams to the oil rigs in the gulf?? (as investigators??)

Come on folks.......do SWAT team members have some special qualifications that make them the instrument of choice to investigate the safety of off shore oil rigs? I know they like to get up high on things so they can shoot down into the top of a persons head.....but an oil rig? Seems a little far away from any target of opportunity out there......unless some of the roughnecks are suspected of being terrorists.......some of them could be returned veterans I guess.

Is it possible that the real reason for the disastrous explosion, fire, sinking and subsequent gigantic oil slick that threatens the gulf shores somehow be related to man caused disasters ?

How is an oil slick cause for Big Sis of Homeland Security to get involved?

Use of Navy assets to contain the slick I can understand....

But SWAT teams....

Could it be I need to up my medications so stories like these wouldn't give me cause for concern?

Tell me that you don't watch in your rear view mirror when you meet a patrol car on the highway and you're doing 58 in a 55 mile per hour zone.

Or do I need to apologize to little Suzy there?

Pork Chops.....

Corn on the cob, garlic green beans and wild rice. That's what's for supper.

Sounds to me like we're eating pretty high on the hog.

According to the White House spin masters and their captive economists we're all gonna be doing that any day now. I can hardly wait.

Of course they point to the recent increase in new home sales and the rise in the stock market as their prime indicators. Never mind that 3 years ago the number of new homes built was on the order of 2 million and today it is around 500 thousand; per capita the lowest level since numbers of starts were tracked and that the rise in the stock market is caused by people with money looking desperately to find some place to put it where they can maybe break even......
you sure can't park it in a saving account or CD's....where you are lucky to earn 2 to 3 %.

Some pundits are calling this the dead cat bounce.

Damn if I know.....I just watch with a little bit of apprehension. Will the gov't deposit more electronic digits into my checking account on the first.......will they buy as much as they did last month? Not if you use the price of gasoline as an indicator. Or the price of precious metals.....both of the shiny kind and brass and lead.

Almost time to make the monthly raid on Wally World where if you can't find what you want or need you can amuse yourself by watching the people who go in and out.

Update 9pm; Home made Banana Nut Bread for a mid-evening snack. Yeah, sux to be me.

The source of all rights is the right to life, and its sole implementation is the right to property, the right to use the products of your efforts to sustain your life. The rights to liberty and the pursuit of happiness are the rights to enjoy your life and use your property. In sum, rights are freedoms for rational beings to take the actions necessary to fulfill and enjoy their lives. The root of this evil is altruism, the perverse principle that “man has no right to exist for his own sake, that service to others is the only justification of his existence, and that self-sacrifice is his highest moral duty, virtue, and value” (Rand). Thus, altruism negates individual rights. If one has no right to exist for one’s own sake, one has no rights whatsoever. The health-care measures passed may be touted as “good-faith efforts,” as Batten stated, but the “good faith” is solidly rooted in an evil premise.

Altruistic ideologues, such as those running our government, believe that the initiation of force to counteract selfishness is not only permitted, but obligatory. To a committed altruist, anyone who refuses to sacrifice, to serve others at his own cost, is harming those others by denying them their right to the product of his efforts.

It was altruism, not selfishness, that gave rise to the horrors of communism and fascism. Both systems, variants of collectivism, deny that individuals have any reason for existence other than to serve others and advocate stamping out self-interest as a moral imperative. By contrast, this country was founded by men who did not consider themselves sacrificial animals, servants or slaves to the state. By claiming that rights are unalienable, they held that rights exist whether or not anyone chooses to recognize them.

There is no more time to evade this choice. Will we recognize the existence of individual rights and the full meaning of what they are and what they require, or will we accept the institutionalized slavery of enforced service of all to all, where ability is penalized and need is encouraged?

Gotta love Jefferson. I wonder who the current Thomas Jefferson is..........perhaps Thomas Sowell. I've been reading his articles for a long time. A great thinker and educator. He should be president, but has perhaps, too much honor to stoop so low.

Greece and the European Union are in crisis, The United States and the dollar are in crisis, we're all labeled racists or teabaggers, the dimocrits hate the republican'ts, there are few positive leaders showing up on the radar screens for the 2012 presidential elections yet, just more of the same old tired has beens without a clue as to how to turn this nation back into the productive freedom loving beacon on the hill. The people are mad as hell and fewer and fewer are willing to take much more.

Where will it all end?

Damnifiknow, but I'm sure it will stress me the hell out and I'll have to rant and rave about some of it. So stay tuned.

Another Friday

At the end of another work week for some folks. Those without a job or those whose job is self imposed think of it as just another day to get out there and strive to earn their keep by the sweat of their brow.

If the pollen weren't quite so bad that cars are yellow despite whatever factory color was applied to the outside it would be a wonderful day. Oh, well, I've just taken my Alavert and hopefully I'm good to go.

Gonna settle a few things and then head up the road to Lula and environs. The Wife of my youth will likely attend me, along with the pooch, who as we're getting up to speed will hang his head out the passenger window and let his whiskers blow back to his ears. I guess this is his way of sniffing out where we're going.

Blogging has been light and may continue to be. Events such as the one posted last evening have a way of bumming me out and there are all too many of them. We have to support efforts to encourage those who are attempting to stem the rush to turn this Republic into an irreversible oligarchy and educate enough of the public to get them to join the effort.

Tuesday ...Back to the Future

A great feel good movie from 25 years ago starring Michael J. Fox before he started shaking so bad.

I must confess that I enjoyed it back when I was 35. Not so much now, but I'm older, crankier, fatter and more jaded. I've seen it and really have no desire to see it again.

It does seem that we are going back as we plunge headlong into the future.

As a for instance......I've experienced bankruptcy, foreclosure and having to leave where I wanted to be for somewhere I had to be. Not complaining......I'm glad I had somewhere to be..
...many don't have that option.

One thing I didn't do was take it as a signal that everything was over.

I realized that it was one of the most liberating things that had ever happened to me. Suddenly I could think about the future again and not have to worry about the mistakes of the past. One of the beauties of the American system is that we can't be put into debtors prison where we can never work our way out. With determination and optimism we can build a brighter future.

Get to the point Kdzu....

The point is that sometimes I catch glimpses of the future.

Nothing so grand as visions or prophecy. I don't talk to dead people, although my daughter Diana is sensitive to that sort of thing. No, it just comes along as flashes, perhaps of insight, perhaps of having a bit of weirdness in me, that a possible course is more likely than another.

I was talking with a friend this morning, both of us bemoaning the general gone to hell in a handbasket shape the country is in right now, and he said, "We're Screwed".

I agreed with him and then started ticking of the four possibilities I saw for the future vis-a-vis this countries economic choices.

And it struck me.....

Economists speak with terror in their voices about default, which is not being able to pay the bills. If you consider the rate at which the national debt is growing and the amount of interest the nation pays on that each year there is only a short period of time in which we can make choices that will prevent us from spending more than we take in just on interest.

We already spend twice what is taken in in revenue each year and the projections is for that to grow. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel and its the 12:05 to disaster heading straight for us.

But perhaps we need to consider something on the lines of a bankruptcy, after all isn't that effectively what Russia did when it ceased being the USSR. All the debt was in the USSR's name and it had effectively died. There was no one to collect from and the heirs of the estate told the rest of the world to suck eggs.

Anyway here is my forecast for the future.......

states, cities, and entire countries will declare bankruptcy...

If we can keep from losing our heads when it happens......we just might emerge the better for it.

AFTERTHOUGHT: Of course it would all go for naught if we don't get rid of the assholes serving in elective offices and reduce the current number of bureaucratic teat suckers by at least 50%, preferably more, who will be, by far, the hardest to eliminate......perhaps firing squads....

Monday Maudlin

Every so often I have to go through my inbox and delete emails both read and unread. Mostly by now I can tell by the subject line whether I want to look at it or not. Some are deleted out of hand and some are left to at least open for a glimpse then a quick decision......delete or read it all.
Sometimes it's important, whether it is from family or not.
Sometimes I find something that makes me sad that I didn't catch it the first time around.

Sis, I'm sorry I didn't open it when you sent it. Thank you so much.

Having seen the elephant, I can tell you that most of the people serving in the military don't think of themselves as hero's. They'll tell you they are simply doing their job or trying to make sure others in the unit get to go back to their homes and loved ones one day too, and if they don't, you never forget it.

The world in it's bustle and hustle to reach the future gives those, the fallen, scant notice, but to someone somewhere, especially those who served with them there is always a piece of you that is forever lost. You didn't have to know them well or even hardly at all, but they'll always be a part of who you are that is missing, leaving you just a little bit less than whole.

Sometimes I think that the real hero's are the ones left behind, waiting at home for someone important that will never come through that door again, or perhaps, the hero's are those who send them off, never knowing if they will return, and if they do return will they be whole, standing tall, or bent or broken. But then......

I consider that today, when military service to this country is a completely voluntary option, perhaps even those who serve others, no matter what their MOS, whether on the front lines or behind a desk somewhere, they all deserve to have this song played for them.




Likely they'll not hear it from my puny efforts, but maybe just the fact that it's out there will let them know that someone, somewhere, cares.

Saturday Evening, Almost a week

This week is just about to be closed out and put into the archives of weeks gone by, and it means that I've been drifting, lost in the Doldrums for that period of time. So it is with a great surprise that I learn The Darlin’ Miss Jean has suggested my name for this blog award....



I'll tell you, I worry about the girl sometimes. Perhaps its all those exhaust fumes from Daytona that have affected her after enough years. Maybe if she had done like Clinton and not inhaled....

Apparently I'm supposed to tell you five thing about me and then pass the award along. That's gonna be tough.....

Not the five things about me....

Rather picking five things about me that I'm not ashamed to let people know about....

One, I've been married 42 yrs, 4 mo's and 6 days. The astonishing thing about that is the wife still lets me hang around. Of course she has a sweeter and more forgiving nature than I.
We have 3 children together (2 daughters and a son) and I have a daughter by another relationship who I didn't know until she was 16. The astonishing thing is not that they all turned out so well, rather that all of them love me. Blessed I am.

Two, The Government used to pay me to kill people in the Southeast Asia War Games, (where we took Second Place) and now they pay me not to. Despite that, I love my country. I just don't particularly like the people who want us to think they run it. With medication and therapy I have found that I am the one who deserves the blame for all my misfortunes.

Three, In spite of the advancing years, and probable advanced dementia, I still think I'm gonna conquer my area of the world and will sometimes jump off into the deep end of the pool without my arm floaties. I'm as excited about the opportunity to have a small part of a potential new business as I was at the births of my children. My loving wife worries that it will just be another one of Larry's money losing dreams. Me.....ha, time will tell. Go for it....let's roll.

Four, I don't drink, smoke or use any of the popular hallucinogenics, just those mind altering prescription drugs the VA keeps sending in the mail. I don't mind if you do though... just try not to throw up on the rug or cause harm to any one other than yourself.

Five, I've been tossing things out into the interwebz for just over 5 years. Haven't made much of an impact but that's alright. Would I like to be read and enjoyed by thousands and change the world for the better..... yeah, but apparently not enough to work at it harder.
It's just another way to calm the voices in my head that keep my ears ringing, and it gets me to the computer where I have read writers that put me in my place every day without even knowing me. All of you have made my life better in some way. Thanks

Forty years

"Been a long time pilgrim" .

In a place that doesn't exist anymore because it was bombed into rubble, but at the time I was there was a small village with beautiful blue murals painted on many of the buildings, just outside the gates of an army and air force base that was the closest airfield to what was at that time known as North Vietnam, home to parts of the 9th Infantry Division, the 11th Surgical Hospital, some Air Force wienies, a 101st Airborne Air Artillery unit and...... Charlie Horse 3rd of the 17th Air Calvary... where a 21 year old, skinny Warrant Officer Cobra helicopter pilot one night heard on the Armed Forces Radio Station a sweet voice singing the most amazing song, without distraction of musical instruments, accompanied by the voices of two military choirs, that I had ever heard.

Many others have since tried to equal it, but this is the version I love the best....

Personally I think the FBI informant placed within the Hutaree group may have had a starring role in the Video and it was to prevent embarrassment to the Feds that they tried to hide the tape.

After all we wouldn't want anyone to get a negative opinion about anybody associated with the Chinese Fire Drill on the Potomac (CFDP).

I can't confirm, but sources close to the group suggest a strong contender for an Academy Award for best short film by an independent director category next year.

I got nothing

While we've had several nice days here in the Classic City, with temps reaching into the 70's, the urge to write has been dulled by all the screeching and shouting from the political class.

Perhaps I'll find that old urge soon......probably, as I can't go too long without casting bottles into the sea.

It's April 1.....April Fools day. That seems appropriate as I'm off in a few minutes to have my annual report to the IRS filled out and beamed to IRS Regional Headquarters attesting to my lack of work ethic and resulting low Net Income. If we'd pass the Fair Tax Legislation there would be Zero need to go through this effort each year.

Ya'll be good and play a prank or two on your local congresscritter.

A day can be brightened by the glow of an almost 4 year old girl to the point of your heart missing a beat within your chest.

Such was today. Marred only by having to work for a few minutes going to get 40 odd Morgan and Peace $'s. (Tough work, but somebody has to do it)

When ever I'd catch myself withdrawing into my grotto of selfishness I'd go find Callie and her grandmother and walk into the sunshine again.

She has gone home with her dad to see her mother of whom she whispered last night in her bed, "I really, really miss my mom", leaving us the richer for the experience.

Spring comes early in Canada this year

Spring is well under way here in the South. The flowers are blooming and birds are starting to look for nesting spots.

Sap is rising in flora and fauna alike and the crazy women who go into heat with the rising of the temperatures are unbuttoning the top two buttons and putting a little sashay into their walk.

Expected here though and allowances are made and young men begin to think of Turkey hunting and crappie fishing.

In Canada, on the other hand the ice is still in existence and cabin fever is rampant on college campussies.

How else to explain their quickness to accuse of hate speech addresses not even given and the subsequent rioting, ranting and raving by the student body of The University of Ottawah at the very thought of Ann Coulter giving a talk.

God protect us from the Vast Reservoir of knowledge and experience that exists on College Campuses.

They better all run out and get a job, quick, before all that certainty and knowledge leaks out of their bubble brains as the thorns and pricks of real life begin to poke holes in them.

The ice packs in Greenland will surly be melting down to mere ice cubes as all that hot air escapes.

Wednesday Morning

Gonna be a nice day here looks like. Mid 70's with sunny-shine. Aahhh Spring.

Got nearly 8 hours sleep and would have except for waking one time around 1:30 fighting with the CPAP mask and having to sit in the EZ chair for and hour or so of fitful sleep.

The missus is back in bed for another day of therapy for her own cold. This one has been a brass bound son-of-a-bitch for sure. The good news is that she is much improved over yesterday. The pooch refuses to get more than 3 feet from her and is in full protective mode.

A few errands to run this morning, then spending some time preparing for the CPA visit next week to have the taxes done. One big change is closing out the business to the status of hobby. The rules say I can loose as much of my own money as I want in a hobby, so why consider it a business.

No news read or listened to this morning, so I'm in a good mood. Ya'll come back later and I'll comment on the idiocies of the day.

My hero (cause he gave the finger to the system and moved to Guad, married a senorita and drinks Kino Red and pens prose with bigger words than I even dreamed existed) Fred has much the same to say vis-a-via the current contretemps in That Sewage Pit Draining into the Potomac have stirred up.

Much the same feeling I have which is, Let's see em enforce it or pay for it.

They don't really expect to be able to enforce this monstrosity, they simply think that the gimme class will not realize that they are going to have to actually pay the premiums and not out of BHO's Stash but their own, and will blindly vote to keep them in power forever.

And if that doesn't work will try to enforce it with martial law.

Screw 'em.

I think it's Tuesday, anyway. I could be a day off .....

Nope, I just checked. One more day till the trash bin has to be wheeled down to the end of the driveway and left for the trash man to empty.

It's important to remember these little things.

We can get so tied in knots over the fact that apparently the 50 % of the population with IQ's below 100 are now running the show that we forget that there are at least that many above the line. Scary thought but you just knew that eventually it would happen, didn't you. Ohhh?? Never thought of that? What can I say.

After spending 36 or so hours in a blue funk over the Taxation Without Representation going on in the US, and finally after 5 days of sleeping (actually, not sleeping mostly) in the upright position of the easy chair, hacking and coughing the last little bits of my lungs out, I finally got 7 hours of pretty good sleep back in my bed last night. (Of course about 3 am the missus was up and sleeping the rest of the night on the couch because of her coughing and hacking).

And because of more sleep and upon a few minutes spent reading this afternoon, I've begun to put the passage of The Health Care De-form Bill into perspective.

Newton I think it was that theorized that 'for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction'. I've spent one and a half days (more if you count the ranting done before the vote) being that opposite re-action.

Which is not to imply that is a bad thing, just that it's to be expected.

There is also a saying that, 'we cannot know the good without also knowing the bad'. Makes sense. We have to know them both to be able to judge between them.

Just because the half the population that actually engages in rational, logical thought, and has seen the bad through a knowledge of history and human failures and could see the inevitable consequences of robbing Peter to pay Paul does not mean that the dimmer bulbs on the Christmas tree have sense enough to come in out of the rain.

And so, this too will pass into the dustbin of history at some point.

The point being that I should relax and try to have fun with it while I may; for all too soon, as time is measured by the universe, the sun will go Nova and all this region of the Milky Way will disperse back into the cosmic dust to wander aimlessly about until captured once again by some speck with enough gravitational pull and coalesce into some other sphere.

So, for now, I will not waste precious metals of brass and copper sheathed lead, and go back to digging another room for the Kudzu Grotto, where I will sit, surrounded by my cases of Canned Pork and Beans, ever vigilant against the encroachments of mildew and rust, laughing hysterically and betimes weeping for what might have been.

All of the forgoing blathering of sanity and insanity should in no way be taken as evidence that the medications will forever restrain the dragons and demons and they'll not come snarling and puffing forth smoke and flame from time to time. Rather that for now the gambler remembers that losing is part of winning......and the games not over until one person has all the chips.

When.....

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

It disturbs me a great deal that I write the following; but, I am glad the House of Representatives last evening at the time of 11pm voted to pass the Health Reform Act.

Now before you send the ambulance with the white jacketed men wielding straitjackets to round me up and haul my wrinkled ass away, let me continue.

Because, perhaps now the citizens of this Republic will wake fully to the tyranny that can be imposed when we let others make the decisions regarding the totality of our live and will demand that their Freedom be returned.

For as many years as you care to number up to one hundred and fifty the rights demanded by the Declaration of Independence and codified by the Constitution of the United States and especially the Bill of Rights have been slowly eroded by the elected representatives of this country, whether for their own glory, power or enrichment or at the behest of others seeking their own goals.

Slowly, slowly, then more and more rapidly as the demands of honest men to be left alone to seek each their own freedom and security and the same for their families diminished with the passing of generation after generation, lulled by the siren call of prosperity and plenty that had been provided by the earnest effort of their fathers and mothers, this nation became so pliable to the seductive caresses of the velvet shackles that bound first one foot, then another, then a little finger, then another till at last we reach the point of complete restriction except for perhaps a muffled whimper around the edges of the gags imposed upon us.

Perhaps the sleepy giant can yet be aroused to it's full righteous, indignant anger to burst the bonds that keep it from revealing it's tremendous abilities and power. Perhaps these assaults are now sufficient. If not now........when?

We've seen glimpses of that power and those abilities when it has arisen to overcome foreign tyrants intent on enslaving not only their own countrymen but those of it's neighbors, in World Wars of the shooting kind and the lesser bally-hooed wars of ideas and philosophies. From a nation that fed the world and exported the ideas and inventions to the remote places so that other free men and women could feed themselves and their families.
From a nation that envisioned and succeeded in placing men on our closest heavenly neighbor, a nation that led the assault on smallpox, polio, hunger and ignorance.
From a nation that has given freely of the blood, sweat and tears of it's young men, women and families in hopes that the blessings of freedom with all it's attendant benefits could be extended to peoples of every stripe and hue, whatever their beliefs, with only the expectation that both they and we could then live lives of prosperity, plenty and progression together on the world that a benevolent Creator had placed us upon.

I have to believe that ability and power still resides within the hearts of my countrymen, but as history has shown time and time again, freedom cycles from abject slavery to determination by a few to break free, to struggles against overwhelming forces to freedom, to prosperity and security to pride and wealth untold to addiction to feast and entertainment to willingness to let others decide the direction of our lives, back into the shackles of Slavery.

By some counts I am either old or senior, certainly thought of as well past my prime and quite possibly I've been out in the sun too long, but this I vow

I take this pledge as a personal Declaration of Independence. As a sovereign individual, I assert the exclusive right to my life, my liberty and my property, as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. Sunday - A Day For Prayer

The coming War has been a long time in reaching the combustion point.

Today may be either another dash of fuel on the embers or another small dash of water, depending upon how things go in that Great Insane Asylum on the Potomac.

I don't have the talent to express my emotions on the subject and likely would receive a visit by dark suited men wearing sunglasses if I were.

But a Rubicon has been reached in America and perhaps will be crossed today.

Then spend some time in fervent communication with your Creator, God, or just with yourself to fully understand and make decisions based on your understanding of where you will stand in the coming days.

So a vote for ObamaCare is also a vote against the vitality of American capitalism. Business elites have mostly held their tongues, or calculated that they can later dump their health-care liabilities on the government. Yet ObamaCare will lead to much higher levels of taxation across society. The tax wedge—the share of labor costs that never reaches workers but instead goes straight to government—will start flying towards the 50% that prevails today in most of Europe. In America, without the same welfare state obligations, it hovers near 30%.

A self-governing democracy can of course decide that it wants to become this kind of super-welfare state. But if the year-long debate over ObamaCare has proven anything, it is that Americans want no such thing. There is no polling majority or any bipartisan support, much less a rough national consensus, for this expansion of government power.



This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can't be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won't be done. The Founders' Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.

But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.

And when we are gone, the scattered, free survivors hiding in the ruins of our once-great republic will sing of our deeds in forbidden songs, tending the flickering flame of individual liberty until it bursts forth again, as it must, generations later. We will live forever, like the Spartans at Thermopylae, in sacred memory.

I believe that is a good thing, but I am convinced that I could never go 15 rounds with Cassias Clay. Not with the shots he'd give to a torso. I feel like I've been there though. My chest, ribs, and back ache from all the hacking and coughing I've been going through. Not to mention getting what little sleep I have sitting upright in the ezy-chair.

OTC medications were no match for the congestive cold I have and I finally did get to see my primary care Dr. at the clinic.

Some kind of penicillin and strong expectorant is hopefully helping, as well as hot steamy showers to loosen the crud in my head and chest.

Tonight will see me once again upright in the chair, but this time armed with some Tylenol PM, hopefully, a bit more sleep.

This weekend may be one of those defining moments in history that you read about;

Will We The People of The United States of America be ruled by Law as laid out in the Constitution or will we be ruled by men who care nothing for us.......only for their own power?

As the Ancient Chinese Curse says, "May you live in interesting times".

There are muffled clicks as stones are dropped into pouches and pockets all across this land, and off in the distance you can hear a faint drumbeat....and what sounds like a fife....

After much prodding and poking and scanning with whirl-a-ma-jigs and thing-a-ma-bobs she was unceremoniously evicted from her hospital room way up there in the wilds of Maine into the arms of her tiny husband (6' 8" and looking like a redwood) who had soldiered on as best he could with out her being there every day to make sure he brushed his teeth and combed his hair. (Think of the Giant Guy from the Harry Potter Movies) (just kidding)

A *Very Serious* Warning To Nancy Pelosi


I know you're not going to listen to me.

I'm going to say it anyway, because as a concerned citizen of The United States of America, I must.

You are making a grave, perhaps nation-ending mistake.

Attempting to "deem" the Health Care bill passed when it has not actually been voted on is not Constitutional. Article 1, Section 7:

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law.

This is the black-letter law of the land.

There are millions of Americans who are extraordinarily pissed off right now. Some of them, like me, write scathing columns on The Internet or we rant on Talk Radio and Television (such as Judge Napolitano)

But some just smolder. Some remember the other founding document of our Republic, The Declaration of Indpendence, which says, in part:

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

That doesn't sound so good. What has tempered these people is largely what always has in all nations, that is:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Indeed.

Neither you or I know where the line is for that cross-section of the citizens in this land. I cannot speak for them, for I am not inclined toward the sort of actions that they are, nor do I countenance them. As such I'm not exactly on those folks' "A list".

In fact I fear the day they decide to express their disgust, for while in singular number those expressions are horrifying, as a group such actions harken to a time I hope we would never revisit in this nation.

But I do understand, and see, that they are seething in anger at what has befallen this once-great country.

They have watched as thirty years of corruption in Washington DC has turned our economy and government into a bad joke.

They have watched their jobs go overseas to a Communist Nation for the benefit of a handful of corporate oligarchs, while Washington chortles.

They have watched banksters do everything in their power to imprison them in debt, including bribing Congress to remove usury laws, "reform" bankruptcy so as to render a significant percentage of the population under effective indentured servitude (allegedly prohibited by the Constitution) while the very same banksters declare bankruptcy at the drop of a hat and stick lenders with losses, and while these very same banksters peddle fraudulent securities, cook their balance sheets and generally defraud everyone in the nation - then force the taxpayers, at gunpoint (quite literally, if you remember the fall of 2008 - you were in the room with Bernanke and Paulson when they threatened tanks in the streets) to bail them out.

Finally, they have watched Health Care turn into a monstrous mess, with cost increases of 10, 20 even 30% or more a year. These costs are expanding at that rate because ambulance chasers like former Presidential Candidate John Edwards make millions while Congress has passed laws forcing Americans to eat the development expense for every advanced medical technology over the last 30 years. Congress has refused to demand that medical practitioners bill everyone the same price for the same procedures and drugs. Congress has passed laws exempting medical providers and insurers from anti-trust law, so those aggrieved cannot sue in private causes of action for these abuses. And finally, Congress has forced all of us to eat the cost of care for illegal invaders who commit their first crime with their first step over our national boundary. All of these abuses and more could be addressed, but none of them are in the bill you wish to advance, and that, Madame Speaker, is intentional.

But all of this, while it has been outrageous and even criminal, has been, for the most part, Constitutional. It may be the stuff of a Banana Republic, and it may violate equal protection of the law (a founding principle and in fact a guaranteed right), but Congress has never cared about any of that in my 47 years on this planet.

Witness all the laws you, Madame Speaker and the rest of the Government (including this Health Care plan) do not have to obey while the rest of us do under pain of fine or even imprisonment.

What you propose to do now, however, is not Constitutional.

Rather than negotiate, advance and pass something like my four-point plan that would, along with dropping anti-trust protections and ending the practice of preventing reimportation of drugs and devices, attack the problem at the source, you instead are putting forward the Senate's 2200-page monstrosity.

You are doing so because this bill is not about Health Care at all. It is about revenue, and you know it. It is about the fact that The Federal Government is running into a wall at warp speed trying to furiously cover up all the fraud and scams in the financial system while at the same time spending over $1.5 trillion we do not have to replace collapsed consumer demand.

You must raise revenues, and you know it - or this ship called "The USS Treasury" sinks beneath the waves, and the first sacrifices to go overboard will be all the Seniors on Medicare and Social Security - not by choice, but by force of fiscal insolvency.

In short, this is just another Washington scam.

But this time you're going too far, and you're taking a horrific risk.

You must not, Madame Speaker.

You must instead face this nation and tell the truth.

We cannot fund the scams and frauds any more. Those who committed them must go to prison, even if they're campaign contributors.

We cannot borrow 10% of our GDP and spend it forward, as the CBO projects we will try, in a futile and permanent attempt to replace consumer demand.

If we do not stop this idiocy we will soon be unable to fund Social Security, Medicare and Welfare in all its forms, leading to an immediate and critical breakdown of our society.

The mad reach for revenue, Madame Speaker, is why you're in such a hurry - and you know damn well I'm right.

If you succeed, we will get your tax bill now and the promised health care never.

That's a fact.

There is a bright white line for every person in this country who has taken an oath to uphold our Constitution. It is in different places for each of those individuals, but you had better believe it exists.

For some it will be crossed if you try to disarm Americans, as was attempted after Katrina.

For some it will be crossed if you try to occupy their homes.

And for some, it may be crossed if you attempt to "deem" this bill passed, when The House has not actually passed it.

I pray this evening I am wrong, and that for no material number of people - indeed, for no one person - that is where their personal line is.

But I am reasonably certain that this prayer will be offered in vain.

Therefore, the choice is yours, not mine, for all I can do in furtherance of my hopes (and abeyance of my fears) is pray.

You, Madame Speaker, on the other hand, can act to quell this idiocy.

Or you may tempt fate, you may tempt the millions of people who have swore an oath to defend and uphold The Constitution and, having done so, went to war throughout our history. Many of those people, along with millions more who never wore a uniform stand today in defense of that "quaint" old piece of parchment - but not in defense of you, nor any other person.

You may also provoke States to assert their long-dormant 10th Amendment rights for real, not in some quaint "one off" regarding intra-state weapons manufacturing. That, Madame Speaker, harkens back to a time I'd rather not revisit as well.

You will almost certainly lose your Speaker's Gavel come November, as the mortal sin against the Constitution of deeming a bill passed without actually voting on it is so inimical to a republican form of government and displays such gross arrogance that you have forfeited your right to wield that gavel by mere contemplation of the act.

I am quite certain that I stand with millions of other Americans who are willing to put forth whatever effort is necessary to see that occurs come November - at the ballot box - whether you proceed with your abhorrent plan or not.

But what I pray for this evening, as I complete my day and offer homage to God before retiring, is that your office, and those of your fellow Democrats who are about to violate your sacred oaths willfully, intentionally, and with malice aforethought - is all you lose.

If you think you're a victim, you will always be a victim.

If you search for reasons to be depressed or to quit trying, you will find them.

If you justify your failure by blaming it on others, you will find plenty of people willing to exploit you by

justifying your depression... confirming your victimhood... and commending you for your failure to give it your all.

A couple of years ago, a woman told me she could never make it in
business because she was a female.

Years earlier, a guy told me he'd never make it because he was black.

Guess what? Neither one of them made it.
